Other Accident Related Deaths

Here are some similar cases of husbands who have murdered more than one wife or girlfriend in accident related deaths. These cases are for extra reading only and have nothing to do with the basis for the movie or the true story above.

Pennylvania 1994
In November 1994 a man named Timothy Boczkowski called the police. He claimed that his wife, Maryann Boczkowski was unconscious in the hot tub. The police tried to revive her, but she died on the way to the hospital. She 35 years old. She had alcohol in her system at the time of her death. Timothy Boczkowski blamed her drowning on her heavy drinking. According to Timothy they were in the hot tub drinking alcohol. He got out of the hot tub, and when he went to check on his wife a while later, she was submerged under the water in the hot tub. While Timothy was at the hospital, Boczkowski's father told police that Timothy's first wife, Elaine, had died in the bathtub in Greensboro, N.C years before. The police treated Maryann's death as suspicious. When they interviewed Timothy his statements seemed rehearsed. When he was asked about the death of his first wife, he cut the interview short and asked for a lawyer. Investigators compared the lives and deaths of both women, and they found obvious similarities. Boczkowski was never charged in the death of his wife Elaine. Autopsy report revealed that Maryann had been strangled. An investigation revealed that he was having financial and marriage problems in both marriages. He was convicted in 1996 for the murder of Elaine, but sentenced to death in 1999 for the murder of Maryann.
